A specially selected range of 56 donated artworks by top artists including Alan Cotton and Peter Randall-Page will be auctioned at:
Thelma Hulbert Gallery, Dowell St, Honiton EX14 4TP
Friday 2 March at 7pm (reception from 6pm)
“Unfortunately due to the very poor weather conditions, Thelma Hulbert Gallery (THG) and Honiton’s Admiral Nurse campaign have had to take the decision to postpone their fundraising auction, which was planned for Friday 2 March.
The new date for the auction is Friday 8 June at 7pm (reception 6pm) in the main gallery at THG. Therefore we will be continuing to accept online bids until 7pm on Thursday 7 June.
Thank you to everyone who has already shown an interest and placed bids. These are all still valid.
Please save this date in your diaries. We hope you can join us on 8 June to help us raise as much money as possible for these two exceptional causes and do credit to the artists who have so generously donated these wonderful artworks.”
All the artworks are listed here under ‘All Auctions’, please register to place your bid online or come to the auction night. There are no reserves on any of the artworks.
The art auction is hoping to raise funds for Honiton’s Admiral Nurse campaign and the THG Learning Programme supporting those with dementia and other mental health issues.
Honiton’s Dementia Action Alliance has identified a real need for expert care and support at home for people living with dementia. We are working towards raising a target of £150K to fund our own Specialist Dementia Nurse in Honiton. Known as Admiral Nurses, these highly qualified practitioners are provided and supported by the charity Dementia UK. They work together with families offering one-to-one support and expert guidance from diagnosis to post bereavement.
Our initial aim is to secure enough funds for an Admiral Nurse on a three-year contract. We are working with the whole community of Honiton to help us achieve this target. The share of funds raised from the auction will be extremely valuable in taking us one step closer to bringing much needed support to families living with dementia.
Thelma Hulbert Gallery (THG) offer workshops and activities for all ages and abilities. We are already working in partnership with Honiton’s Memory Café, MIND and The Project, Axminster. The share of funds from the auction will help us to continue and develop our award-winning work helping those with dementia and mental health issues and their carers, bringing them together in shared art or craft activities.
